This lovely country is also a favourite study destination for students from all over the world, since its universities are known for high-quality education and inexpensive tuition fees and living costs. In Italy, all international students have the same access to financial aid as Italian students, based on the same criteria of financial need and/or merit. International students can apply for government scholarships at both the national and regional levels. Furthermore, certain Italian universities offer overseas students Italian scholarship schemes.

Scholarships from the Italian Government for International Students

Scholarships to study in Italy are available from the Italian government for both foreign residents and Italian nationals residing abroad (IRE). Master's Degree (Laurea Magistrale 2° ciclo), Courses of Higher Education in Arts, Music, and Dance (AFAM), PhD programme, Research under academic supervision (Progetti in co-tutela), and Italian Language and Culture Courses are all eligible for scholarships. Tuition, health insurance, and a monthly allowance are all included in the scholarship. Scholarships are only available for three, six, or nine months.

Study Grants for International Students at Bologna University

International students wishing to enrol in first cycle (bachelor's), second cycle (master's), or single cycle degree programmes at the University of Bologna are eligible for full tuition fee waivers and study grants under the Unibo Action 1&2 scholarship scheme. These Italian scholarships provide students with full tuition price exemptions (Unibo Action 1) as well as study grants of € 11,000 (Unibo Action 2) for one academic year. To be eligible for these awards, a candidate must have the necessary educational qualifications to apply to their desired degree at a non-Italian university. They must also take the SAT or GRE test, the results of which will determine their eligibility. The maximum age for applying is 30 years old.

Piemonte Scholarships at EDISU

Non-EU international students enrolled full-time in a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, Single Cycle Master's degree, or PhD degree programme at one of Piedmont's universities (i.e. Politecnico di Torino, University of Torino, University of Eastern Piedmont) can apply for EDISU scholarships if they meet the competition's merit and financial requirements.Students enrolled in a bachelor's degree programme who are part-time are eligible to apply. A lot of things influence the scholarship amount. Housing services may also be provided to non-resident students.

Padua's International Excellence Scholarship Program.

The University of Padua also offers the, which grants complete scholarships to highly talented prospective students interested in pursuing an English-taught first- or second-cycle degree at Padova. A subsistence stipend of €8,000 is included in the scholarship, as well as a tuition fee remission.

Bocconi Merit and International Awards

International students enrolled in any approved Bachelor's or Master's degree programme at Bocconi are eligible for merit-based scholarships. For Bachelor's students, the scholarship provides a half-to-full tuition remission of up to €12,000 per year, and for Master's students, up to €14,000 per year.

International Students are eligible for tuition fee waivers at the University of Pavia.

The University of Pavia is giving 150 tuition fee waivers to all foreign students enrolling in selected degree programmes in the 2022/2023 academic year, in order to boost the presence of international students and support the establishment of a more global community.

Politecnico di Torino International Scholarships

International students can apply for scholarships to study at the Politecnico di Torino in subjects such as engineering and architecture.

Merit-Based Scholarships for International Students at Politecnico di Milano

Every year, Politecnico di Milano offers a number of merit based scholarships to the most talented international candidates admitted to a Master of Science programme.Students who receive a scholarship will only have to pay a €200 administrative fee. On top of the tuition fee remission, scholarships ranging from €5.000 to €10.000 per year may be offered.

Università Cattolica International Scholarships

The UCSC International Scholarship is a yearly tuition price discount offered by Università Cattolica to encourage international students to enroll in degree programmes. About a quarter of the total cost is covered by the discount.
